(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Today, LRHS seniors attended their first graduation-planning meeting of the year. There will be two more, during the third and fourth quarter.
Seniors were informed about Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that students can apply for if they want financial aid.
Deadlines as well as requirements were discussed. Students will be eligible to until June 30, 2020. The sooner one applies, the more money they could earn.
This application takes about 30 minutes and can early a student as much as $8,000 each school year.
Mustangs were then able to vote on their class sweatshirt, created by senior advisory members, which included five different design options.
Option number one was chosen by senior Mustangs. The design will be posted onto the “Class of 2020” schoology site.
Students who wish to purchase this will be able to buy them starting Friday at $30.
A representative from Herff Jones then discussed graduation caps and gowns as well as 2020 Herff Jones merchandise such as announcement cards and class rings.
Students received a Herff Jones informational book regarding deadlines for cap and gown orders, as well as dates they can order them online.
Herff Jones will be on campus on Monday, Nov. 4 and Tuesday, Nov. 5. Students also have the option to order online. The online deadline will be Tuesday, Dec. 31.

“This meeting made me realize how close graduation is. It has gone so fast,” said senior Patrick Brown.
The Lakewood Ranch High School class of 2020 graduation Is scheduled for the Bradenton Area Convention Center May 13, 2020.
