Mustangs wrap up volleyball season 14-10

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team wrapped up their regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Saint Stephens Episcopal School at home on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The Mustangs’ are now 14-10 on the season and ranked second in the district.

Junior Julia Kuehn said, “It feels weird that we’re already done with our regular season but we’re all super excited for the postseason and hoping to go far.”

The freshmen and junior varsity (JV) teams’ seasons are already over, with freshmen finishing with an overall record of 11-1 and JV finishing 11-4.

Sophomore Mallory Lloyd said, “It’s sad that our season is already over, but we’re all super excited to cheer our varsity team on as their season continues.”

The Mustangs’ have a pass for the district quarterfinals and will face Gulf Coast High at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Riverview Sarasota for the district semifinals.

The winner of this game will play either Riverview Sarasota, Lennard, or North Port in the district finals at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17.
