Hiral Patel – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Mustangs welcome new dean Diana Thomas to LRHS.
Thomas graduated from University of Florida and University of West Florida. She has lived in Florida her whole life and enjoys the “local aspect” of being at LRHS.
“It’s been an amazing year at LRHS so far. I’ve spent 15 years of my career in middle school,” said Thomas.
Thomas was a part of the administration at Buffalo Creek Middle School and in Hillsborough County. She chose LRHS because of the opportunities it has to offer.
Thomas’ goal is to reduce discipline referrals while at the same time enforcing LRHS disciplinary rules.
“She has brought discipline and experience into the LRHS team as another female colleague,” said Dean Debora Shannon. “Having another woman on the dean team is nice to discuss things as women such as discipline. She has a good sense of humor and a great work ethic.”
Dean Jacob Sponsel said, “Having other women on the LRHS team helps us managing the discipline with girls around the school.”
Sponsel also mentioned, “Thomas has a good work ethic and is dedicated to her work here at LRHS.”
Dean Thomas Bellantonio agreed.
“Thomas is excellent to work with as she is reliable and knowledgeable in her work field’” he said. “She is ready to hear the students out and let them be heard and share their argument. She is doing an amazing job to help provide fair and consistent discipline among all LRHS students.”
Thomas hopes to grow at LRHS in her discipline enforcement and hopes to become an assistant principal in the future.
