(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This week we asked students of LRHS, “What are you most excited about for homecoming night?”
This year’s homecoming dance is on Saturday, Oct. 5. This night gives students the chance to dress up and dance the night away with their friends.
Freshman Brooke Morgan stated, “I am excited to go to my first homecoming as a freshman with all of my new friends and be able to dress up in nice clothes.”
This dance allows students to meet new friends outside of school hours and enjoy themselves while being in a safe place.
“Last year as a freshman I was a bit scared to go to homecoming but this year I am excited now that I know what it is like,” sophomore Noah Cummings said. “Also, I enjoy getting dressed in a suit and tie, being able to go out for a nice dinner, and being with all of my friends.”
Leading up to the dance, LRHS has homecoming week where students and staff can dress up for the themed days. This takes place during school hours. There are also fun activities after school hours that many of the students attend.
Junior Emma Messimer said, “My favorite part about homecoming is being able to dress up and do my makeup and getting out of my comfort zone. I am super excited for homecoming week that is before the dance and being able to dress up in a fun way.”
“This is my last homecoming dance so I am most excited for the memories I will be making with my best friends. We will be taking pictures and go out to eat beforehand, then we will go to the dance. I have been before and I know it is a lot of fun and being able to see everyone dressed differently than when we are in school is really cool,” said senior Gavin Goeden.
