(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS kicked off 2019 homecoming week Monday with Decade Day and movie night.

Mustangs dressed from the past by wearing clothes for “Decade Day”.  The freshman dressed as the 90s, sophomores 80s, juniors 70s, seniors 60s, and teachers 50s. Students went all out wearing bellbottoms, neon colors and flower headbands.

Dressed for the 70s, junior Erika Lyvers said, “I had so much fun being able to put an outfit together and see how many people dressed up.”

Eighties-inspired sophomore Cameron Perry said, “I think it’s fun and I like how every grade has a different decade and I love how everyone took a different take on it and the different style.”

At 6 p.m. Monday Student Government Association hosts a showing of 1939’s “Wizard of Oz” in preparation for homecoming.  “Wizard of Oz” is the theme for this year’s homecoming dance.
