(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS JV football team faced Parrish Community High School for the schools’ first official competition. Thursday night’s game gave the Mustangs their first win of the season, 28-21.

“It felt great to get our first win of the season,” said freshman John Sirignano. “The best part of winning was playing as a team and beating the new rival school.”

Coach Alex Michaud is looking forward to seeing the team grow as a unit and using this first win as a guide for the rest of the games.

“The hardest part was getting this first win, and these guys got their first win and for some their first high school win,” said coach Michaud.

Sophomore quarterback Elijah Stobaugh is looking forward to more wins in the future and said it was great to get out here with the boys and get their first win.

Sirignano said, “Playing as a strong team really helped us out there, we picked up each other’s mistakes and got each other’s backs out on the field.”

Next, the Mustangs will play against Venice High School for their third home game of the season.
