Peter Fisichella – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last week’s LRHS blood drive was a success. Blood Drive Committee adviser and LRHS keyboard teacher Rebekah Lester said 115 students donated blood.
Those donations can save up to 345 lives.
“Every two seconds, someone needs blood’” said Lester. “The blood donated at our high school drive will likely be transfused into a patient within 48 to 72 hours. The turnaround is that fast and the need is constant.”
LRHS senior and blood drive committee president Chris Georgas was happy to see how successful the blood drive was.
“I was really impressed with how smoothly we ran the blood drive, especially so early in the year,” he said. “It was amazing to see how many Mustangs were willing to step out of their comfort zone and help the community.”
The next blood drive is scheduled to be on November 21, 2019. If Mustangs have questions about the blood drive, they can ask Lester in room 517.
