Freshmen experience first high school football season

Carson Manning – Mustang Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS football program entered a new era in 2019.  Head coach Rashad West took over the varsity program.  That means new plays and schemes.

LRHS football is certainly new to freshmen football players Riley Scofield, John Sirignano, Ethan Lawson, Josh Jackson, and Jacob Rosenberg. This is their first year of high school football and each of them has had to adjust to new expectations and experiences.

Mustangs Ahead (MA): How do you like football so far?

Lawson: It’s fun and a good way to interact with others.

MA: What are the positives of being a part of a team at LRHS?

Rosenberg: We all get to be together and all of us are really good friends.

MA: What are some challenges of being on an LRHS team?

Jackson: Probably never being able to play in the game because our games have been getting canceled. I’m ready to prove that we are not a 0-70 team.

MA: What are you looking forward to this year?

Scofield: Being a new team and not being looked at as an easy to beat.

MA: How do you hope to grow in the years at LRHS?

Sirignano: I hope to grow physically, mentally, and socially throughout my years here.
