(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Tuesday members of the LRHS Key Club chapter created cards to send to U.S. troops overseas through the Manasota Operation Troop Support programs (MOTS).

“MOTS works to support troops that live in or have a family in Manatee County,” said club treasurer junior Stacey Balloch.

Balloch has done some volunteering for MOTS in the past and was able to set up an event for Key Club members here at the Ranch.

MOTS will be packaging the hand-made cards and delivering them to the soldiers where they are stationed.

“I hope this makes people aware of how fortunate we are to be protected and have the freedoms we do,” said Balloch.

Key Club Mustangs had the opportunity to earn thirty minutes of community service for participating and Balloch is hoping to host similar activities at their meetings in the future.
