(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Thursday the junior varsity (JV) football Mustangs took on the JV Sarasota Sailors. The Sailors won 19-7.

The Mustangs had several chances to take the lead in the fourth quarter but fell short. The Sailors’ late defensive stands set them up with great field position, which ultimately put the game out of reach for the Mustangs following a late Sarasota score.

LRHS sophomore Marlow Walker intercepted two passes, which were the highlights of a well-rounded performance by the defense. On the offensive side, sophomore Eli Stobaugh connected with sophomore Kaden Allen for the loan trip to the endzone for the Mustangs.

Next Thursday the Mustangs will travel to Parrish Community High School to take on the JV Bulls. They hope to get their first win of the season.
