Golf teams continue to post wins

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys and girls golf team are staying busy and continue to record consistent wins.

Last Thursday, Sept. 12, the girls golf team competed at The River Club. They defeated St. Stephens with a final score of 170-206.

Medalist Ashleigh Angelo led the team with an outstanding score of 35. Following Angelo was Ashlyn Einwachter with 38, Jessica Kobetitsch with 45, and junior Mikayla Stokes with 52. The teams record now has a strong 4-1 lead.

The boys team competed on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club, Cypress Links. They competed in a 4-team match and finished in first place with a combined score of 165.

Freshman Preston Severs led the team with a total score of 38 but was an all-around even contribution. Junior Stryker Reid followed closely with a score of 40, Eli Martin with 43, and right behind was sophomore Johnny May with 44.

Bradenton Christian finished second with a total score of 186, Manatee finished with 201, and Inspiration Academy finished with 207.

More recently on Wednesday, Sept. 18 the team competed at Legacy Golf Club against Sarasota. Unfortunately, they were defeated with a final score of score of 147-163.

Sarasota Sailor Jordan Evans led the match with a score of 36 but was only 2 points less than both Mustangs lead scorers.

Co-medalist Severs and Reid both led the team with strong scores of 38. The teams record is now 25-31.
