(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team continues their run of success with wins over the Sarasota Sailors and Charlotte Tarpons and with a successful weekend tournament in Orlando.

Last Thursday the Mustangs traveled to Sarasota High to face off against the Sailors.

After dropping the first set 22-25, the Mustangs’ bounced back by winning the next three, takin the match overall 3-1.

Following this, the ladies traveled to Orlando to compete in the Winter Park High School Showcase. The Mustangs finished second in the silver division with an overall record of 3-2.

Lastly, on Tuesday the Mustangs’ traveled to Charlotte High School beating the Tarpons, 3-1. Freshman and junior varsity (JV) also played and won their matches.

The girls’ next home game is scheduled against Braden River on Thursday September 19.

The theme, planned by the new LRHS Stampede spirit club, is a whiteout.

Junior Lauren Ford said, “We’re all so excited to be playing at home against our rivals, our crowd is always super pumped and into the game which makes it so much more fun playing.”

Freshman plays at 5 p.m., JV at 6 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
