(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS National Honors Society (NHS) met Tuesday, Sept. 10, to discuss future events and goals of the club.

These events included the Benderson Breast Cancer Walk, taking place Oct. 19, designed to raise awareness and money for research towards the disease.

NHS is also holding an event hoping to help teachers on Oct. 26; a group of members visit various teachers’ classrooms to help with any needed tasks, such as organization or cleaning.

“All of these events are for members to work towards their 12-hour semester (volunteer service) requirement,” said NHS Parliamentarian senior Manoela Dos Santos.

NHS is one of LRHS’s most prestigious groups, and members are selected each spring.
