(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Peer tutoring has officially started back for the 2019-2020 school year. Tutoring sessions are held 7:00- 7:30 a.m. every Thursday in the LRHS media center.

Tutors are available to help with a wide range of subjects from math to foreign languages.

Students unable to attend Thursdays can still receive help from tutors.

Sponser and LRHS keyboard teacher Rebekah Lester stated, “Students are welcome to contact me or any of our officers to schedule an appointment before or after school throughout the week, if they cannot come on Thursdays.”

Officers for the 2019-2020 year include –

  • President Jack Wilkinson
  • Vice President Trevor Clark
  • Historian Loganne Digma
  • Treasurer Scott Baker
  • Secretary Carly Baker
  • Communications Director Alexander Dantoulis

“There are a lot of tutors ready and willing to help those who need it,” said Wilkinson, senior.

Becoming a tutor offers many opportunities to both grow in your own knowledge and obtain service hours.

“Applications are right outside my door,” Lester said. “Everyone is encouraged and welcome to join.”

Anyone interested in becoming a tutor can pick up a form from room 517 and attend the upcoming meeting this Thursday.
