(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Swim Team kicks off the 2019 season with new head coach Kyle Steinberg.

Steinberg is an LRHS world history teacher and has been the assistant coach for the swim team for two years

In addition to coaching for USA Swimming and briefly coaching a high school swim team before coming to LRHS, Steinberg has been involved in competitive swimming since he was 6 years old.

LRHS social studies teacher Kyle Steinberg plans swim practice.

“I love that swimming takes a lot of practice, perseverance, and dedication to even see small drops in time, but that we can put in the work and see results. It teaches us a lot about ourselves and how much pain we can endure. It teaches us to be responsible,” said Steinburg.

Steinberg was asked to be an assistant coach for the Mustangs in 2017 based on his past coaching experience and has loved it ever since. He was more than happy to continue coaching at the ranch by stepping up to the head coach position this year.

“My favorite part would be being able to work with our athletes to encourage a love of the sport and to see the progress that they make over the season,” said Steinberg.

Steinberg looks forward to organizing meets, conducting team activities, and writing practices for the Mustang swimmers.

He hopes to repeat the success from previous years and bring in the county championship trophy for the Mustang swimmers, and is excited for the upcoming swim season.
