HOMECOMING PROTOTYPE 2019(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Homecoming week is quickly approaching on the Ranch. The annual week starts on Sept. 30 this year.

Students are encouraged to participate in theme days throughout the week leading to the homecoming game and dance.

Monday starts off the week with the theme “decades.” The seniors portray the 50s and 60s, the juniors take the 70s, sophomores dress as the 80s, and freshman as the 90s.

Tuesday marks “college game day.”  This allows Mustangs to show off their favorite collegiate sports teams.

Wacky Wednesday is next. Students can wear their shirt backwards or inside out which leaves a lot of room for imagination and creativity.

Thursday is “color day”, where each class is assigned a specific color. Seniors are yellow, juniors are blue, sophomores are pink, and freshmen are purple.

Senior Bailey Wegenast said, “I love how we stick to the same color every year. I have been yellow since I was a freshman, so I have collected a lot of fun yellow things over the years.”

Friday is Spirit day. Mustangs are urged to accessorize with green and black.

Homecoming starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. Dance tickets can be purchased at all lunches starting Sept. 30 and at the door on the night of homecoming.
