(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS’ freshman, JV, and varsity volleyball teams all fought hard Tuesday but in the end all fell to last year regional champions, Venice High.

The LRHS varsity Mustangs dropped a match to the defending regional champs.

Sophomore Mallory Lloyd said, “We were all nervous in the first set which caused us to make a few more mistakes then we would’ve liked. In the second set we cleaned up our game but came up just short of winning.”

Varsity then finished off the night, putting up a strong fight but falling 0-3 to the Indians.

Sophomore MacKenzie Schmucker said, “We battled right with them the first set but after we lost that I think a lot of us just lost confidence, which caused us to drop the next two sets.”

The freshman, JV, and varsity teams will all continue their regular season Tuesday, Sept. 3 with an away game against Braden River.
