New LRHS dean experiences first year out of classroom

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- New LRHS Dean Thomas Bellantonio is really enjoying the energy and spirit on campus.

Bellantonio went to college at University of Florida for his undergrad and University of West Florida for his masters.

He was born in Seattle but has spent most of his life in Florida. He has also lived in Buenos Aries, San Francisco and Baghdad, Iraq when he was in the Army.

Bellantonio is a first time Dean at LRHS. Before coming to LRHS he worked at Braden River High School as a social studies teacher. He was also the boys’ soccer coach and the Youth-in-Action club advisor.

“Going from a teacher to dean is quite a change,” said Bellantonio, “However, I am slowly getting to know teachers and students. I really enjoy the energy and the spirit here on campus.”

Bellantonio said that his first day was a little hectic with all the stresses that come along with the first day of the school year. Otherwise, he enjoyed it.

“My favorite part of this job is interacting with students and staff on a positive level. I am looking forward to meeting new faces and starting a new tradition here at LRHS,” said Bellantonio.
