(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With Monday’s start of the school year came a flurry of “new”s for around 2500 Mustangs… new classes, new friends, and even new experiences can be intimidating yet exciting for many Mustangs.

“I’m excited for this school year as an upperclassman,” junior Brianna Folk said. “I feel like this year will present a lot of academic challenges but I’m ready to push myself.”

Though some students may see the first day of school as intimidating, others stay optimistic about it.

“I’m super excited to make the best of this school year,” sophomore Jenny Cotton said. “I’m most excited for the classes that I chose as well as all the new experiences of my sophomore year.”

For those who may be nervous about starting a new school year, sophomore Taylor Austen has a few words of advice, “On the first day of school try to meet and talk to new people, they are feeling the same way you are.”

Junior Tanairi Santiago reminds everyone to “not be afraid to be yourself,” and junior Jacob Byrd advises everyone to “treat school like it matters now, because if you don’t you will regret it later.”
