Summer means pointing efforts in a different direction

features icon(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Summer is just around the corner for the students here at LRHS and elsewhere. As they get closer to exams, students can find themselves counting down the days until the break.

Summer break means no school for months, no homework, etc. But what else does that mean for the Mustangs who wander the halls?

When thinking of summer break here in Florida, many could be thinking about spending the days at the beach, travelling, and having fun, but Summer often comes with more work.

Summer break require more effort to have fun and to stay connected with friends. It’s just as hard as keeping yourself awake to study as it is to make sure you stay busy and are making plans.

Sophomore Peter Fisichella said, “It requires more effort to stay connected with friends over the Summer because everyone is doing different things. Some friends leave, while other stay and have plans with other people and you just don’t see them.”

Sophomore Jenelle Bayor added, “When you’re in school, you have someone telling you what to do and when to do it. But when you’re on vacation, you’re in that mindset that you have nothing to do so the position of telling you what to do and when to do it is your responsibility at that point.”

With that said, students around the Ranch will soon shift their focus onto Summer and staying busy by making plans with friends.
