Jenelle Bayor– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys basketball team had a great season this year, making it to the State Championship game in Lakeland.
The Mustangs ended up finishing second in the state, losing to Blanche Ely High School.
A month after the final game of the season, the boys are already back to weight training four days a week.
Head LRHS basketball coach Jeremy Schiller stated, “They are all participating in travel ball programs. Some local, some that travel around the country. Our team is hungry to get back in the gym and work towards next year’s state title.”
Schiller said, “The entire program was proud of this year’s success and the opportunity to represent Lakewood Ranch High School in the State Championship game. We were disappointed in the outcome, but proud of how we played and performed in the biggest moments.
“Our entire team was outstanding. Many of them have been honored across the state in all-star games and players of the year. We will miss all of our seniors so much for all that they did for our program,” he continued.
Schiller viewed the season as a massive success. “Our players did a great job of carrying on the legacy of success that was established before they were here, and they pushed the bar even higher for the next generation of Mustangs.”
Next year the boys will look to come back just as powerful and make everyone just as proud as this year did.
