Kara Smith – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS is helping address local hunger issues this summer.

In the United States, one in every seven children go hungry. Of those seven children, six do not get the meals they need in the summer.

In order to help this issue, Manatee County School District created a summer long program to be sure children under 18 have access to free healthy summer meals.

Bayshore High, Braden River High, Lakewood High, Manatee High, Palmetto High, and Southeast High will be open on the weekdays from 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. to provide the summer meals.
