(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS baseball season is officially over for both the junior varsity (JV) and varsity teams. The boys started in the beginning of March and ended last week.

The varsity Mustangs closed out the year with a close loss in the playoffs. It was disappointing after both teams worked very hard throughout the season.

The varsity Mustangs went 23-5.

Varsity player, Richie Morales said, “It really sucks that we lost but we’ll just have to come in stronger next season.”

Sophomore Noah Harsch started on the JV team but moved up to varsity towards the end of the season.

“The varsity baseball team had an amazing season; they even won the district championship! I had a blast with the limited amount of time that I spent with the team. Their vibe was always positive, and they never quit even if they were losing. It was a tough way to end the season. We had high hopes to make a run deep into the playoffs. I hope to be a part of the team full time next year and accomplish what we missed this year,” said Harsch.

The team will hold morning workouts over the summer at 10 in the LRHS weight room.
