(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS HOSA hosted its first annual banquet May 3. Officers planned the medically themed banquet to wrap up the end of the competition season and school year.

Incoming president junior Nicolette Ngov, junior, said, “I had so much fun setting up and helping organize the banquet. Though it was a stressful situation, it did end up being a lot of fun. I’m excited to see what the new officer team is going to do next year.”

Inductions were held during the banquet, and it was an emotional moment for the outgoing and incoming officers.

Outgoing Parliamentarian junior Morgan Deglopper said, “Inductions were a bittersweet moment for me. It was sad to leave the HOSA officer team, but I am excited to help train the new officers on their positions.”

Officers also prepared a speech for adviseand LRHS physical education teacher Carol Lidey to show her their love and appreciation for everything she has done for the club.

Student Director Junior Kelsey Le said, “Mrs. Lidey is the only reason our chapter of HOSA is still standing. She saved our club, and we are forever grateful for her. She puts her whole heart in the club, and I have never met someone who is so dedicated. We all appreciate and love Mrs. Lidey so much.”

Wolves Head Pizza & Wings catered the event with Baked Ziti, Chicken Parmesan, Salad and Garlic notes. The meal was followed by a Publix cookie cake sheet.

Incoming Vice President junior Cameron Willis said, “The food was really good, and I think everyone enjoyed it. I am glad that everything in our first annual banquet was a success.”
