(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Spring football game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Citrus County’s Lecanto High School.

Mustangs coaches and players are more hyped then ever with new drills and practices every day.

Mustangs run through Spring drills.

In a typical practice day, the boys warm-up, stretch, work in individual drills, work in groups, and then work as a whole team. Practices are set up in periods and every few periods the boys rotate from working in their individual areas to working in a group or with the whole team.

This week the team started hitting and tackling in full pads. The boys are also working on their plays in preparation for the game.

Junior Jordan Elliott said, “I’ve most improved on staying lower and being more aggressive when coming off the line. I’ve also improved my speed as well.”

The Spring game will be the first for new Mustangs head football coach Rashad West.
