(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Tuesday night, the LRHS choir finished off the year with their Spring concert. Choir.  Director Giselle Panagiotakis described it as a show full of “nostalgia and excitement.”

“I was ecstatic about how the concert went,” Panagiotakis said. “My favorite part was the mixed choir singing ‘Somebody to Love’ and the combined choir singing ‘Ukuthula’ with their hands held.”

Among the choirs that performed were advanced womens, mens and acapella, as well as multiple solo performers.

Each choir sang three pieces that they had been preparing since winter break. The five months of practices were done for the concert as well as the Smoky Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The mixed choir attended the festival last week and received first place.

For the seniors in the group, this was their last concert.

“I really enjoyed building relationships with everyone throughout the year,” said senior choir president Julia Gennocro. “I loved watching everyone’s growth and improvement from the beginning of the year to the Tennessee trip as well as the Spring Concert.”

Both Panagiotakis and Gennocro were happy with how the show went and felt it ended the year on a good note.

Gennocro added, “We have all grown as a family this year. I’m sad to be leaving but I can’t wait to see where the choir goes next year.”
