(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS students are known for their academic and athletic success around the state. One successful athlete living up to that reputation is sophomore soccer player Caleb Phillips.

Phillips plays for Braden River Soccer Club, is a competitive travel team that plays in some of this area’s best competitions.

His soccer team recently qualified for the highly selective and competitive Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup, one of the biggest college soccer showcases in the United States. Phillips said, “I’m very excited to play in this tournament. It will be fun for our team.”

Phillips has been ready for these types of opportunities since he started playing at 4-years-old. He added, “I’ve been playing for a long time, but I always come back to the sport because of the competitiveness. Everyone on my team plays together for a common goal.”

His team travelled to Dallas, Texas for a college showcase from April 14-21. This tournament allowed the team to play in front of college scouts and to represent the state of Florida.
