  • President: Kevin Irwin
  • Vice President: Jake Hanson
  • President-elect: Ella Grogan
  • Treasurer: Marissa Briggs
  • Secretary: Kelsey Le
  • Public Relations: Andrea McPherson
  • Historian: Emma Bittar
  • Parliamentarian: Manoela Dos Santos

Irwin, a junior, stated, “All of the officers are excited we have this opportunity to lead such an important part of our school. I’ve always been in NHS, but I never thought I would get the opportunity to be a president.”

NHS students are invited into the group based on their grade point averages (GPAs), volunteer hours, and extracurricular activities such as sports and other clubs. The officers are also chosen by these aspects.

“Leadership is a big thing in picking our officers. You really have to be brave to lead such an important part of our school,” said NHS adviser and LRHS English teacher Mary Ellen Eskett. “The officers are also going to lead all of the NHS events.”

These new officers will meet with the outgoing officers after school on Tuesday, April 23. The new officers are going to learn the important aspects and skills of being an NHS officer.

Junior  Hanson said, “This is going to be an amazing year for NHS. We are planning on celebrating the most successful people of our school the best way possible. Everyone elected should expect some fun events and a great year.”
