Madison Aker- Mustangs Ahead

NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Friday, April 12, the Woodland Community Church in Bradenton held the 11th annual prom for special needs students.  Numerous Mustangs volunteered to make an extraordinary night.

The event was free to those of 16 and older with special needs in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Guests got to walk down a red carpet surrounded by volunteers who cheered them.

LRHS volunteer Josie Curtis, junior, stated, “The whole experience was so heartwarming. Seeing all the guests dance and have the time of their lives essentially made my night. I oversaw the dance floor and danced with a few of the guests and they had the biggest smile from ear to ear. I cannot wait to volunteer next year.”

Volunteers were also on hand, helping with doors, dancing, and dinning.

Guests then danced the night away in a Moana themed auditorium surrounded by decorations donated by companies and people from the community. Exceptional amounts of food and even karaoke was provided for the guests and volunteers.
