(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Thursday night LRHS hosted its annual Fine Arts Night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium and courtyard.

The event flyer said, “The event will feature original works by our talented student artists at the Gallery Walk as well as performances by our talented chorus, band, orchestra, piano, and theatre students and a visual presentation of the works of our Digital Art and Digital design students.”

Walking around, there were many exhibits to view outside as well. In the courtyard, murals, ceramics and pottery were hand prepared and displayed by LRHS students. Some were for sale and some were just for the public to enjoy. The entrance of the auditorium was filled with 3-D studio art students’ work. Outside along the auditorium walls were strings full of 2-D studio art students’ paintings.

There was a bake sale supporting Key Club as well.

Performances were held in the auditorium by band, orchestra, keyboard, chorus, theatre and both jazz 1 and 2 students. There were also two keyboards set up outside the cafeteria and the auditorium for students to entertain guests.

Junior Kenna Agnew is part of the theatre department.

“It was a cool experience to see how other clubs put hard work and effort into their accomplishments. It was also fun to perform and showcase our skills,” she said.

Junior Kaila Kozich from the art department also attended.

“Fine arts night is a good way to showcase all the talent here at LRHS,” she said.

Students say Fine Arts night was a success and they look forward to the event next school year.
