NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS students planning to take dual enrollment college courses on campus next year will have the opportunity to receive more information this week. There will be an informational meeting at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3 in the LRHS auditorium.

Students and parents can learn more about what dual enrollment has to offer. Information will be shared about enrollment eligibility, qualifying criteria, course offerings, and the application process.

“The associated benefits and risks of being dual enrolled in college level courses while still in high school will also be highlighted,” said LRHS assistant principal Dr. Melinda Lundy.

Lundy added that dual enrollment is a great way for students to start their college career while still in high school.

This meeting will help students make an informed decision based on the information they have been presented with. Students and parents are urged to attend this meeting as they will also receive important dates and deadlines.

In the past LRHS on-campus dual enrolled classes have been hosted by State College of Florida – Manatee/Sarasota.  Next year’s courses will be sponsored by University of South Florida – Sarasota/Manatee.
