(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS senior Sarah Merzak has a dream trip this summer to six different destinations before she goes off to college.

Merzak has been planning this trip since last summer and has been researching different countries to create the perfect summer excursion.

Merzak said, “I’m looking forward to learning about all the different cultures and getting a once-in-the-lifetime experience, as well as having my current lifestyle completely changed.”

Her trip starts on June 23 and begins in New Zealand. From there she heads to Australia, Bali, Malaysia, and finally, Hawaii. Merzak is scheduled to return home on July 29 so she can prepare for college.

She will be staying in each country for 12 days and her best friend Maddie Mercer will be traveling with her. They have both planned many exciting things to do while in each country.

Traveling has been a hobby of Merzak as well as her families. She said, “My family and I travel very often, sometimes we travel to different places we want to go instead of a Christmas presents. I enjoy memories and different places rather than materialistic things.”

Merzak is excited to see what it’s like to walk in someone else’s footsteps and venture out of her comfort zone.  For Merzak the trip symbolizes the end and the beginning – the end of her high school experience and the beginning of college.

Merzak said, “I think this trip will be very beneficial for me because I want to be in advertisement and design in the future, this experience will support that because I will be with a travel team going around the world.”
