NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-  The LRHS winter guard competed at the Freedom High School Regional in Tampa this past Saturday.

The group earned a 67.10 and placed seventh overall. The winter guard is hoping for a comeback this weekend at Seminole High School.

Junior Kenzie Beck is proud of her team but hopes the hard work they are putting in this week will pay off at the next competition.

“I’m super proud of this team and how far we’ve come this season, and I know if we push through these hard competitions, we can make it to finals,” Beck said.

The winter guard will travel on March 30 to Daytona Beach to compete in the final competition of the season at Ocean Center. The guard is preparing for the big day, as it is only two weeks away.

Junior Camrin Suggs is excited for the competition, hoping they place higher than last year.

“We placed second last year, and I think we have a shot at first place,” Suggs said, “because we have grown so much over the past year in skill and technique.”
