Meghan Llamas – Mustangs Ahead

Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams both won their games Tuesday night, with the girls beating the Venice Indians and the boys defeating the Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) Eagles.

During their away game, the boys triumphed  12-2, raising their record to 4-1.

“It was a fun game and further prepares us for St. Stephens on Thursday,” said senior defender Josh Rossi.

While the boys won their home game, the girls took to the road to beat the Indians 12-3. This was the girls’ second win of the season, winning earlier in the week against SMA, improving their record 2-3.

“The team did great last night! Our team is getting stronger and we get better every game,” said senior goalie Marissa Boccarossa, looking back on the girls’ win.

LRHS lacrosse’s next games include the boys’ away game 7 p.m. Thursday against St. Stephen’s  and the girl’s away game against SMA tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
