Lacrosse enters 2019 with high hopes

Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams are off to successful starts.

The boys’ lacrosse team defeated the Ft. Myers Bishop Verot Vikings at home 10-8, improving their record to 2-1.

“Our defense really shut them down. I’m very pleased with how our team played and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” stated senior defender Josh Rossi.

Their next game will against Sarasota Military Academy (SMA) at 7 p.m. Thursday at home.

The girls team is currently 0-3 but they have high hopes for the rest of the season.  Their next game is also against SMA, scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.

Coach Sammy Stoltz said that the team is looking forward to the game since Sarasota Military Academy was such a good opponent last year.

Sophomore Camilla Kassner said she feels very confident going into the rest of the season.
