Sienna Rodriguez– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As the end of the school year approaches, the registration process for the 2019-20 school year begins. The curriculum guidelines were handed out to rising 10th -12th grade students Thursday during first period.
Mustangs should start thinking about what classes they want to take next year and review the prerequisites. The registration forms will be distributed on March 4, and some classes require a signature from teachers for recommended courses.
Students will have the week of March 4 to obtain signatures and choose their classes, and then must turn them in to their first period teacher on Friday. Course registration is based off of first come first serve, so make sure to hand in those forms.
LRHS assistant principal Melinda Lundy said students need to take the process very seriously.
“Take your time,” she said “Before you dive into course selections, carefully review the layout of the Curriculum Guide and the registration guidelines on page 1. Considering your academic strengths and areas of interest, carefully review course options in the guide and talk with your parents and teachers about your course selections.”
Sophomore Nolan Carpenter said, “I’m excited to be an upper-classmen and choose my new classes. I want to see new what options I have for science and math.”
If students wish to take dual enrollment next year, there will be a Dual Enrolled meeting at 6 p.m., April 3 in the LRHS auditorium.
Guidance counselors will available in the auditorium during lunch periods to discuss questions or concerns regarding courses.
