Senior Madi Shaefer said, “The team played really well in our first official game. With that being said, we are just getting started and have so much more to accomplish.”

In the JV game, sophomore Lauren Christian got the win pitching five innings and allowing no runs.  Junior Rachel Lamoureaux was four for four with a double, and sophomore Callie Bua was two for three with a double.

JV player, sophomore Faith Ross said, “I thought our first game went great! Venice being the only team we lost to last year, we knew going in that we were going to have to be patient in the box and wait for the right pitch to hit in which we did.”

The next game for the mustangs will be Tuesday, Feb. 26 at home against the Palmetto High School Tigers. JV will be at 4:45 p.m. with varsity following at 7 p.m.
