Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity boys’ soccer team lost in the state semi-finals last Saturday at home.

Lake Mary High School beat the Mustangs 2-0, but the Mustangs were surrounded by the support of their friends, family, and peers.

Head coach Vito Bavaro said, “It was a hard-fought game and it could’ve gone either way.  It was a great season and I’m super proud of these boys for their seventh straight district title and third regional crown.”

Last year the boys lost in the regional semi-finals, so it was a good step up for the team this year.

Senior Wimer Yanez said, “It was a great season and I just love my team, they’re not just my teammates they’re my brothers.”

The boys finished with a record of 20-2-2.
