NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Mustangs’ Golden Herald applications are due Friday.

There were a variety of categories that students could apply for, such as art, athletics, business, citizenship, computer & technology, English and literature, foreign language, general scholarship, journalism, mathematics, music, science, social science, speech, vocational, and drama.

Two nominees are selected for each category, then they will do revisions, type all their answers on the final template and get their teacher recommendation letters.  Once finalized, all applications go to LRHS Principal Dustin Dahlquist for his signature and then submitted to Manatee Memorial Hospital.

All applications must be turned into LRHS Golden Herald coordinator and English teacher Candice Delazzer.   Applicants will all have a chance to go through a mock interview on Thursday, April 4 prior to their actual Golden Herald interviews.

Each category has its own panel of judges, at least one of whom is a person familiar with or working in a job connected to that specific category. The judges will have read all applications prior to the interview process so that they are familiar with each applicant’s qualifications.

Winners will be announced at the Golden Herald ceremony May 1 at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota’s Neel Performing Arts Center.
