Ben Sax – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Tuesday a group of LRHS seniors went on a field trip to Manatee Technical College (MTC).
I also attended the field trip, as we went to two different campuses – the main campus and the east campus.
The field trip lasted the whole day at the main and east campuses, showing off all the programs MTC had to offer.
Some of the featured programs included welding, emergency medical technician, culinary, fire fighter, and cosmetology.
LRHS senior Qihang Guo loved the environment and seeing all the programs, “The program I liked the most was the dental assisting technology and management.”
LRHS senior Nic Reilly liked the variety and seeing the cost of all the programs. “My favorite programs were the Florida law enforcement and the Marine Tech,” he added.
LRHS senior Jonathan Shedrow liked seeing all the programs as well, “The programs I liked the bets were the Welding and Culinary.”
College and Career advisor Michelle Todoroff also enjoyed the field trip, “It was a great opportunity to see all of the career pathways that are available.”
Some of the programs I liked the best were Welding, digital design, optometric assisting, and electrician. I really liked going there and I thought it was very helpful in determining what I want to do with my future.
Although I have my eyes set on a university, going here opened them up to other possibilities.
Before going on this field trip, I didn’t know I was interested in all these programs but now I have a lot more options to think about.
