features icon(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Three LRHS students, freshman Ben Rosasco, junior Eric Miller, and senior Kendall Brookefield were selected to play at the prestigious Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) All-State Music Ensembles Jan. 12 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Each student had to be enrolled or registered at a public school, private school, public charter school, home education, or virtual school and be a regularly participating member in the appropriate middle school or high school performing ensemble from that school.

Miller, who plays the trumpet, was honored to be selected to join such an exclusive band. He said, “Playing among the best of the best is an amazing experience and I hope to be accepted again next year.”

Rosasco is happy to be surrounded by people who love music just as much as he does. “It provides an environment of competition and teamwork. I recommend any musician set this as their goal,” said Rosasco.

LRHS was the only school in Manatee County and District 11 to send more than one student to the conference.
