reviews symbol (4)(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This past Friday, Feb. 8, was the LRHS opening night for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown: The Musical.” After months of preparing, the Mustangs Players were able to showcase their talents this past Friday and Saturday.

Since there was a small selection of parts, the play has two different casts for the show. Junior Gabby Macogay said, “I was so excited to play Sally, her character is super sassy and fun to play.”

The play was based on Charles Schultz’s Charlie Brown comic strips that ran from the 1950s to 2000. It was filled of thoughtful moments of life as well as funny, upbeat scenes. Songs about chasing rabbits, being attached to a blanket, and Beethoven made for a whimsical evening.

Macogay said, “Preparing for the play was definitely hard, but I’m so proud of the outcome. Everyone did amazing!”

The costume design and set design was well done, colorful, and suited each character’s personalities very well. Each costume was unique to the character and matched the time period the play was set in.

Overall, the play provided for a fun night of laughs and singing.

If you are considering going to this weekend’s show on Feb. 15 and 16, tickets can still be purchased at the door. If you have any questions, feel free to call the box office at (941)-727-6100 ext. 2189.
