Sports(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS’s wrestling team had a tough meet this past weekend in Charlotte with two wins and five losses. Mustangs were competing against schools who were ranked second and first in the state.

Coach Tyler Small says he is still proud of his players.

“As a team beating (Naples) Golden Gate (High School) was a big accomplishment. We had lots of pins back to back,” says Small.

Earlier the Mustangs finished 12th place with four placers (top three)  at the Fit2win event.

Small said the Mustang’s wrestling goal is to continue steady improvement.

“I think as a team we just need to keep working on the basics to move forward, “ he said.

The varsity wrestling team will compete in the Logan Kushner event this Friday and Saturday. Be tournament was originally scheduled for Palm Harbor High School but was changed to Countryside High.
