(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Family Career and Community leaders of America (FCCLA) shined in their district competition this past Saturday, Feb. 2.  This was the first district competition for the FCCLA district 7 in three years. FCCLA chapter officer, sophomore Emma Tulio competed for the first time. She said, “Districts was not scary for me at all because I had one of my best friends competing with me, so it was a fun experience.

“It was a bit of an adjustment, but I think I got the hang of it fast. Overall, I enjoyed the experience because it’s what brings me one step closer to nationals,” continued Tulio.

Junior Christopher Holmes also competed, “It was really well done, and the district officers did a great job creating a family atmosphere to make it comfortable for all the competitors, including myself.”

LRHS chapter president junior Morgan Kirchman said, “It was a lot of fun. As a state officer I loved helping at districts and being able to give advice to those competing. It was a humbling experience.”

LRHS district competitors are very proud of their results and can say they are excited to continue to state competition.
