NEWS(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS winter guard and indoor percussion participated in the Braden River Florida Federations of Color guards Circuit (FFCC) regional competition last weekend.

Indoor percussion placed first while winter guard placed third. Both groups were very happy with their performances, but winter guard is hoping for a higher placement next week.

Freshman Julianna McCarter is very proud of indoor percussion’s performance. “I don’t want to jinx it but getting first place in every competition so far is amazing,” McCarter joked. “I want to walk into finals with only first place under my belt.”

Junior Elise Sunderman hopes the extra work winter guard is putting in this week will boost their score.

“This week we are adding more work and raising the performance level, so we are hoping this can help us at our next competition,” she said.

The teams will both be competing on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Plant City High School. Winter guard will perform at 10:37 a.m., while percussion will start at 8:07 p.m.
