Seniors icon(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Two outstanding Mustang seniors are eligible to receive $1,000 scholarships from the LRHS parent association.

Applications can be found in the guidance office, with college and career counselor Michelle Todoroff, on the LRHS website, or by sending a private email to parent association member Jackie Briener. Applications need to be submitted by Thursday, March 21 to the Front Office.

Applicants must provide a copy of their full transcript, with a recommended GPA of 3.0 or higher. Attached to the application is a three-page personal information form that addresses issues like the students’ activities and plans for the future. Next, students need a teacher recommendation form that further explains why the student is worthy of a scholarship.

The next piece that is necessary is a personal recommendation from someone in the community, such as neighbors or employers.

Additionally, applicants need to explain in 300 or fewer words why they are applying for the scholarship and how they demonstrate exemplary behavior. The exemplary behavior is based on the LRHS mission statement: “Students who recognize and achieve their maximum potential through academic excellence, personal integrity, and responsible citizenship.

The winners of the scholarship will be announced at the LRHS senior night.
