(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Last weekend the LRHS Mustangs for Kids club hosted its dance marathon event to raise money for charity.

The event raised $8,707.18, which beat their toal from last year by over $2,000. Even though the club didn’t reach its $10,000 goal, it is still a huge success for the club, the school, and Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.

Club adviser and LRHS English teacher Terri McAllister said, “It was great, the hard work paid off, we had a fun time and raised money for a great charity.”

Mustangs for Kids president of fundraising Connor Murray, senior, said, “With the hard work of our officers and dancers we were able to exceed last year’s donation by over $2,000. I am very proud of what our team accomplished.”

The club will be choosing new officers soon and after that, they will be scheduling and holding more events that have not been chosen yet.
