(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – This week the LRHS Student Government Association (SGA) has been advising the dangers of alcohol and drugs in their “Students Above the Influence” (SAI) campaign.

LRHS SGA students ask Mustangs to remain “Above the Influence.”

The SGA members leading the campaign are seniors Ben Reichbach, Johnny Reid, Caroline Castro, Emma Donato, and Brittany Grice, along with juniors Gemma Zapatha, Abby Price, Brooke Martin, Chris Kourakos, and Grant Schmid.

These students created a poster in the cafeteria which lists the effects of drinking and the diseases that can occur because of alcohol. Committee members set up in the cafeteria during all three lunches on Thursday, Jan. 24 for national signing day.

To pledge that they are above the influence, students created accounts on computers to submit their pledges and then signed their names on a poster that will be hung to show that they are against alcohol and drugs.

All students that signed received a SAI pin and lanyard as well as a coupon to either Jersey Mike’s or PDQ Chicken.
