(LAKEWOOD RANCH-FL) – The new year brings a new beginning and a fresh start.

Many people start the year off with resolutions to create a goal to accomplish it throughout the year. Some goals are more personal such as; working out more, having a more optimistic mindset and getting outdoors more often.

Senior Mikaela Campbell said, “I started the year off by going to the gym and working on cardio.” Many students continued with their workout routine as they wanted to prepare for upcoming sports in the spring season.

Junior Hayes DuJardin worked on a different aspect of himself for the new year, he focused on his music. “On the first day of the year I worked on a new song,” he added.

While some Mustangs focuses on personal goals, others spent the new year in the moment, spending time with those around them.

Senior Hannah Kennelly said, “I went to the beach and spent time with my friends.”

Senior Dee Evans also spent her first day of the year in a casual way, “I stayed at home and spent time with my friends and family.”

Junior Anna Stock went on vacation to New York, “It was exciting waking up in a new place for new year’s, the new environment was a nice chance to refresh.”
