key club logo(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – While others may have been relaxing over break, LRHS’s Key Club was working hard helping the community. Members were able to get plenty of volunteer hours through events at food banks and 5K runs.

The Jingle 5K Run was held at Lakewood Ranch Main Street on Dec. 21. Volunteers helped set up booths, decorate, and hand out food and water to the runners. This event was for seven hours.

Food bank sorting events were on Dec. 27 and Jan. 3 at 811 23 Ave. E, Bradenton. Members helped sort and pack frozen meals, clothes, and blankets. Volunteers were able to get four hours of community service for this event.

Mustangs who want more information on Key Club can attend one of the meetings, scheduled for every other Tuesday in room 509. Students can also visit the LRHS Key Club website, or contact Key Club president, sophomore Gabrielle Carroll at
